Cyrex Array 10-90 Food Sensitivity Test

Cyrex Laboratories is a US-based clinical laboratory specialising in immunology and autoimmunity. They’ve pioneered a novel approach to testing for food immune reactions.

Cyrex Array 10-90 checks for IgG and IgA antibodies to 90 different food substances, whether they’re cooked, raw, changed, or processed. It’s useful for finding out which foods might be causing problems for people with autoimmune issues, and it helps track how well personalised diets are working for them.

Cyrex Array 10-90 Multiple Food Reactivity Screen assesses for:

90 foods in various forms, including raw, cooked, processed, and modified.
Both IgG and IgA antibodies for each food item are tested. Some people produce more IgA than IgG, or vice-versa. By combining the two on one panel, Cyrex reduces the possibility of missing a food reaction.
Plant-derived lectins and agglutinins are found in about 30% of foods and have the ability to bind cells together. They are usually found in beans, peas, lentils, peanuts and soybeans.

The benefit of doing a food intolerance test is that it will be able to quickly show which of the foods you eat regularly are potentially problematic. A food intolerance test is also able to highlight more unusual foods which you may not have considered removing when on an elimination diet.

What sample is needed to complete the Cyrex Array 10-90?

A blood sample is needed to run the Cyrex Array 10-90. The sample needs to be centrifuged.

Postage and shipping

The price of the test includes postage to a UK address and return shipping to the lab.

Please remember that the sample needs to be submitted to the lab before the kit expiration date, or a kit replacement fee of £15 will be charged. Please refer to Terms & Conditions, points 9 and 10.

What to be aware of before collecting the sample?

You’ll need a blood draw -this can be provided by a phlebotomist or in a health clinic at your own cost.
A centrifuge is needed. Please share the collection instructions with your phlebotomist ahead of time to ensure they’re able to prepare the sample in the right way.

No fasting is needed.
Immunosuppressant and corticosteroid drugs can reduce antibody production and cause false negative results.
Never discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider first.

I’m ready to collect my sample, what’s next?

Ideally, please have your sample collected early in the week, no later than Wednesday, so that it reaches the lab in time.
The sample must be shipped within 24 hours of collection.
A prepaid UK courier return label is included with your test kit. Please follow the instructions to book your courier.

What happens when your results are ready?

Your sample analysis typically takes about 14 working days (excluding transit). Once the results are ready, I’ll be notified and will email them to you in the format seen in the sample report.

Please note that the price of the Cyrex panel does not include a consultation. For accurate interpretation, your results should be considered alongside your symptoms, medications, diet, and lifestyle. When I share your results with you, you’ll have the option to opt for a consultation (£195). During this session, we’ll review your results together and discuss your symptoms, lifestyle, and diet in detail. I will then provide you with personalised recommendations tailored to your unique circumstances.
