What to be aware of before collecting the sample?

Before collecting the sample, it’s important that you follow these pre-testing conditions:

There is no need to fast.
Wait 14 days after a colonoscopy to test.
Wait 14-30 days after use of antibiotics or herbal antimicrobials.
Wait 2-3 days after use of either: a rectal suppository OR use of rectal suppositories.
Wait 2 days after use of aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication (NSAIDS).
Wait 5-14 days after use of proton pump inhibitor medication.
Wait 2-3 days after use of an over-the-counter antacid.
Wait 2-3 days after use of bentonite clay, betaine HCL, or digestive enzymes.
Do not collect a sample while menstruating or actively bleeding from haemorrhoids.
Never discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider first.

I’m ready to collect my sample, what’s next?

Ideally, please collect your sample on Sunday or Monday so that it reaches the lab in time.
The sample must be shipped within 24 hours of collection.
A prepaid UK courier return label is included with your test kit. Please follow the instructions included in your kit to book your courier.

What happens when your results are ready?

Your sample analysis typically takes about 10-12 days once it reaches the lab. Once the results are ready, I’ll email them to you in the format seen in the sample report.

Gut Zoomer Methodology

Gut Zoomer uses microarray, RTPCR, sandwich ELISA, LCMS, and GCMS technologies for detecting the markers within the whole assay. Gut Pathogens and Gut Commensal are measured on a RT-PCR platform. Digestive markers use a microarray sandwich chemiluminescence, LC-MS, and GC-MS methodology for quantitative analysis of the analytes reported.
