Sample collection & shipping

The Gut Zoomer now uses both a stool and a urine sample, both collected at home using the kit sent to you. Full instructions for both are included in your kit.

How it works:

Order your test and complete checkout – you’ll receive a payment link from Vibrant Wellness
Receive your kit in the post (allow 3 working days)
Activate your kit by scanning the QR code included
Collect your samples — stool and urine — following the step-by-step instructions in your kit
Ship them back using a prepaid DHL courier return label — ideally on Monday or Tuesday, and within 24 hours of collection
Receive your results — typically 2–3 weeks from when the lab receives your samples

Pre-testing instructions

Just a single stool and urine sample is needed, collected at home using the kit sent to you. It’s straightforward, and full instructions are included.

A few things can affect your results, so please follow these guidelines:

Never stop prescription medications without speaking to your doctor first.

Wait for 4 weeks before collecting if you’ve recently had:

A colonoscopy or barium enema

Wait for 14 days before collecting the sample after stopping:

Antibiotics, antiparasitics, or antifungals
Probiotic supplements (including Actiiva®)
Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs)
Bismuth

For 3 days before collecting, stop the following:

Aspirin or other NSAIDs
Lactoferrin supplements
Digestive enzymes
Laxatives (such as Movicol/Laxido or glycerin-based), enemas, suppositories, mineral or castor oil
High-dose Vitamin C (over 250mg/day)
Iron supplements, activated charcoal, bentonite clay, betaine HCl, or antacids

Please don’t collect your sample if you’re:

Currently menstruating
Actively bleeding from haemorrhoids
Are in an IBD flare with diarrhoea

If you require a laxative: If you have difficulty producing a stool sample, you may use magnesium citrate or a psyllium fibre-based laxative 24 hours before your planned collection time. Enemas may be given using distilled water only. Do not use suppositories or mineral oil.

What happens when your results are ready?

Your sample analysis typically takes about 10-12 days once it reaches the lab in the USA. Once the results are ready, I’ll email them to you in the format seen in the sample report.

Please note that the price of the Gut Zoomer does not cover the time needed to interpret the results. It’s essential to interpret the results alongside your symptoms, medication, diet, and lifestyle. When I share your results with you, you’ll have an option to book a consultation (£180). During this session, we’ll go through your results together in detail — looking at which patterns are elevated, what they might mean for your specific symptoms, and what personalised steps you can take to support your gut health.
